DIY – Mini bell jar from a broken wine glass

DIY - Mini bell jar from a broken wine glass

A few days ago I bumped over my wine glass.Thank God it was empty, so mopping wasn’t necessary. But unfortunately my glass was broken; the bottom came off. Basically I can still drink from it, but I’m not planning to hold it all night because I can’t set it down. A shame to throw away right? Okay, let’s be honest, we will not be drinking out of it anymore but it looked like a fun DIY project. A mini bell jar! A wine glass is the perfect shape for this. The mini ‘cake’ plateau I bought at the store, but you can also put the mini bell jar on the table without anything underneath. Tip: the thrift store  is filled with saucers without a cup. Perfect in size to slide under your new mini bell jar!

Read on to see how you can make a mini bell jar from a broken wine glass. . .

Our son 'Rens' is born!

Baby RensBaby Rens

You might have noticed, it’s a little quiet on my blog now. But I have a good reason! Because on July 18th our son ”Rens” was born . He is super healthy and really a wonderful guy. It feels a bit unreal that something so beautiful can come out of my belly but I am so proud! And not only I, of course, Tom is also completely happy.

Baby Rens

I really love holding the little man in my arms and I enjoy our time together. The difficult pregnancy I had is still on my mind but  that difficult time was absolutely worth it. What are nine months of my life when I can give someone else a whole new one? I think I may love him even more because of that. Our sweet boy did not come easily!

Regarding this blog: Do not be afraid that I will be neglecting it. I’m going to resume with full speed and I am  planning to spend even more time on it. My perfect situation would be to work completely in home so that I can be there for Rens.  And that moment is coming, because my motivation has grown even more with the birth of that little guy! Best thing: you can change the photo on this DIY iPhone case as many times as you want plus it’s way cheaper! In just a few weeks I know I have some cute baby pictures that I want on the back of my iPhone but for now I choose a great picture that I found in a magazine. DIY – Tapewriter magnets

DIY - Tapewriter magnets tutorial

I just ordered a this amazing tapewriter from PS Ik hou van jou. It’s a Dutch site, but don’t worry if you are not Dutch. Amazon also has a great alternative! I love the look of the letters. These old-fashioned embossing tapewriters are so much better than the modern printing ones! Because I love the look of these labels so much I decided to create some magnets from them. This way I can use the labels over and over again without damaging my lockers! So today I’m going to show you this quick and easy DIY project for tapewriter magnets.

Love this – Flats!

flats

My body is changing a lot lately. I lost a lot of wait because of the nausea but I also got a belly that is (of course) still growing. There really is no reason for me to shop for clothes at the moment because what fits me now will not fit me later. I’m also not big enough yet for pregnancy clothes. Because of the weight loss I own a lot of clothes that still fit. I am curious about how my body will look after I give birth. It’s a strange thing that I might be a lot smaller after this pregnancy than I was before. Well, we will see. For now I will look for shoes, bags and other accessories!

Today I want to show you some of my favorite shoes for this spring. And because I’m pregnant they are all flats. I have to give my feet some rest don’t you think? My favorite is number 4. I love the color and the little holes on top! XO Wilma

DIY – Nail polish painted cutlery

Paint mismatching cutlery with nail polish and make it a set. The nail polish will give it an enamel look! @ By Wilma

As many of you already know I really like to shop at thrift stores. I like to find vintage stuff or just stuff that I would normally pay a lot of money for and now get for almost no money. But some stuff I found there just ask for some updating. Like these mismatching cutlery. I love the vintage style. The spoon looks like it’s a birthday spoon. There is a date on the back: 12-1-1942. If it was a gift at birth  than that makes this spoon over 70 years old! Love things like that. I only paid 10 Euro cents for each piece. To make it a set I have a very easy tutorial for you on how to paint the base of this cutlery with nail polish! Why nail polish you may ask? Well, it’s strong plus it gives the metal an enamel look. Love that!
