About kitchen makeovers and colorful dining chairs

Our kitchen is still waiting for a makeover. Our pretty 50’s stove broke and I needed a new one. I was sad about the fact that this beautiful piece of history was now broken but I also thought this might be the time to makeover the kitchen completely. I don’t like the cabinets (they are dark grey), I hate the counter top (really hard to clean metal) and the tiles are just not my taste. We also have some room left right next to the stove where we put a trolley, but it’s always a little bit of a mess because we have not enough cabinet space. I wanted a cabinet there. I thought if we needed a new stove, we could just as well do all the other things we wanted at the same time. Because if we do it later, I have to buy a stove now and later replace it for an oven and a gas cooker that we build in. Crazy right?

I’m also on the hunt for some new dining chairs. We are thinking about having colorful dining chairs like the ones you see above. Maybe all in yellow? We are thinking about painting the kitchen too, but we are not sure yet. We really love the DSW chairs. They are so pretty and classic! I absolutely love them! XO Wilma

Love this – Wallpaper!

love this - wallpaper

Almost all the walls in my house will be white. But in my bedroom I want one wall with wallpaper. Lovely vintage style wallpaper. And maybe in the hallway to. And the spare bedroom.. Oh and maybe the craft room? That would be great to. But the problem is where do I begin? There are so many lovely vintage style and colorful wallpapers for sale. It’s hard to choose. Above you see a few of my favorites. But I might just wait until I have a little bit more money and then go for a weekend to Gent, Belgium. They have such a lovely wallpaper store there. With all kinds of vintage wallpapers. If you ever go to Gent you really have to visit it. It’s called Priem. XO Wilma

Thrift store find: Pretty vintage cooking pans!

Thrift store find: Pretty vintage cooking pans!

Now that I’m moving into my new home I know that I’m going to use my fabulous vintage stove very soon. I’m really looking forward to that. I love baking and I haven’t been able to do some proper baking in over a year! But that lovely vintage stove can’t go without some vintage cooking pans. So I bought some at the thrift store. It makes me so happy when I look at these pans. They are so pretty and colorful! The best thing is I bought them for about ten Euro’s in total. A lot less then if I would buy new ones. And these vintage cooking pans are looking so much better then today’s cooking pans! What do you think of them? XOXO Wilma
