Personal – My sweet boy

My life has changed a lot since I became a mommy. Rens is the sweetest little guy that I can imagine and I’m so proud! But also super in love with him. Much more than I could imagine. And I think that’s the biggest change: that overwhelming mother feeling. Every television program about the relationship between parent and child makes me cry. I thought I knew how it would feel to be a mommy but it is so much more than I could ever imagine. And by that I only mean the positive, I really would not want anything else!

I’m also super curious about his character. Will he be a rascal, is he musical, creative? And what color will his eyes be? I can’t wait, but at the same time I don’t want him to grow up too fast because he is so cute and small right now! XO Wilma

Our son 'Rens' is born!

You might have noticed, it’s a little quiet on my blog now. But I have a good reason! Because on July 18th our son ”Rens” was born . He is super healthy and really a wonderful guy. It feels a bit unreal that something so beautiful can come out of my belly but I am so proud! And not only I, of course, Tom is also completely happy.

I really love holding the little man in my arms and I enjoy our time together. The difficult pregnancy I had is still on my mind but that difficult time was absolutely worth it. What are nine months of my life when I can give someone else a whole new one? I think I may love him even more because of that. Our sweet boy did not come easily!

Regarding this blog: Do not be afraid that I will be neglecting it. I’m going to resume with full speed and I am planning to spend even more time on it. My perfect situation would be to work completely in home so that I can be there for Rens. And that moment is coming, because my motivation has grown even more with the birth of that little guy! This week was… delicious but frustrating

This week was full of good things. We had great food like this delicious homemade pizza (1) and burgers (4). We also went to a barbecue where a friend of ours who is a cook made strawberry and chocolate chip cookie ice cream (5). It was SOOOO GOOD! I know it looks like I’m kinda going overboard with all the amazing food right now but I feel like I should enjoy the food that I like at the moment and not worry too much about it.

Besides the food I finally feel like myself again (3). Without the tube going through my nose. It feels so much better! It makes me really happy. Our cat Dime (2) also makes me really happy. He has been so cute this past week. It’s like he is feeling that there is change coming in our household. I also think he feels that I need his attention now more than ever. It’s been a hard week for me. I really want our baby to be born. It feels like it can be here any moment now and I’m tired of the pain, nausea and waiting. I’m almost 39 weeks pregnant now and I think it’s time for our little one to come into this world.

Thrift stores where also visited this week (6). I found three of these cute mugs for my sister. We also found some old school maps of The Netherlands and of the world. They are getting a special place into our home soon!

37 weeks pregnant!

Finally I want to share a picture of my big belly with you. I’m 37 weeks pregnant now and I’m feeling a lot better than in before. We are looking forward to meeting our little guy or girl. We are also really curious about the gender! Tom thinks it will be a boy. I really have no clue.. We will see in just a few short weeks! XO Wilma

DIY – Jersey baby pants!

Now that I have a little more energy I am starting to finally make things for our little one. This is the part of pregnancy that I was most looking forward to. I love to make things for the baby. It’s great to have something in your hands that is going be used later for or by the baby. These cute baby pants from jersey fabric are one of the first things I have made. Aren’t they cute?

Recipe – Baby chocolate cupcakes with Snickers butter cream

These little cupcakes are absolutely delicious! You really can’t go wrong if you serve these to your guests. The recipe I used for the chocolate cupcakes is my favorite chocolate cake recipe. I tweaked the recipe until it was just perfect. I made this cupcakes in a Cupcake Maker. If you love cupcakes you really should have one. It’s so easy to make cupcakes with this machine. Your cupcakes are ready in just a few minutes! The topping of this cupcake is made with Snickers butter cream. And that makes this cupcake amazing! Mmmm….
