DIY – Vintage lace purse

diy vintage lace bag mod podge

Do you remember the brown leather purses I found in the thrift store? I posted them last week in ‘Latest thrift store finds’. I really love these little purses. I don’t care that they are scratched and torn. It all adds up to the vintage feel. I love bags with character! But I thought I could make them even a little more special. I really wanted to keep the vintage feel, but I wanted to make the bag more unique. What did I do to make that work? I used lace! And some Mod Podge of course..

Hair tutorial – Messy side bun

hair tutorial side bun wedding hair flower

I love wearing my hair in a messy side bun. It’s easy to do and it will last the whole day. Because the bun is on the side of your head you can see the bun from the front. That’s what I like so much about it. It looks more playful then a regular bun. When you add a flower to it your look is completely finished. But you don’t have to! A lot of the times when I put my hair up like this I’m not putting a flower in it. But for a special occasion, let’s say a wedding for example, a flower would bring this easy side bun to a whole different level!

I love to make quick snacks and treats. It’s nice to have something homemade without spending a lot of time on it. These microwave chocolate cakes in a bowl are really easy to make and ready in just 5 minutes. They are perfect as a treat when you get unexpected visitors. Today I made them as a dessert. And they were a big hit! The recipe I put down is for one bowl of cake only. But of course you can make as many as you like!

DIY – Tattoo tights

I love the look of tattoos and someday I would really like to have one. I think the old fashioned swallows are absolutely gorgeous. Besides that birds represent for me freedom. The freedom to do the things I really want to do. For now I want something just a little less ‘forever’. It’s a little bit like test driving a tattoo. Of course you could use temporary tattoos or you could just draw something on your body. But why not draw something on your tights? This way you can ‘wear’ your tattoo many times without it fading away!

DIY – Picture Easter eggs

decoupage picture easter eggs

Yesterday Kara Nielsen asked me if it was possible to do my decoupage Easter eggs with pictures of her grandchildren. She asked for some advise on how to do this. I think it’s a great idea to decoupage eggs with pictures. That’s why I decided to make a tutorial on how to do this. I will show you exactly how to print on napkins and make these eggs with your own pictures or prints! I’m not going into the details on how to blow out the eggs. If you want to know how to do that you can read my ‘DIY – Decoupage Easter eggs’ post.

diy vintage painted shoes

Those of you who are following me on Facebook and/or Twitter have already seen a little preview of these fabulous vintage style shoes. Today I am finally sharing the DIY! I found these great vintage style shoes for just 4,50 Euro. I loved them, but I thought they would be even more fabulous with a little bit of paint. I like the vintage style of them and I think the black paint makes them look more vintage. I think they turned out great! What do you think? Are you going to paint your shoes?

Latest thrift store finds

thrift store find alarm clock

I love visiting thrift stores. I never leave empty handed, there is always something I just need to have. Well, at least that is what I think the moment I buy it. But hey, it’s so damn cheap. Who can blame me? Today I wanted to show you some of my latest finds.

The picture above is a vintage alarm clock I bought for two Euro’s. My boyfriend found it. I love the style of the clock and it’s in perfect working condition. Only problem is; we don’t have a working socket in our bedroom at the moment. Don’t know why it doesn’t work and I’m not really into fixing it. So we save this find (and our nightlights) for our next home.
