Recipe – Pita bread pizza

recipa sweet pita bread pizza before

Pita bread is a really easy base for making pizza. My oven (read combination microwave) can’t bake normal pizzas. The dough stays raw. So pita bread pizza is a really good alternative for me. I use pre-baked pita bread that has to go for another 6 minutes in the oven to finish.  My pita bread pizza’s are a little bit sweet and great for a quick snack. I love them and they really are delicious!

DIY – Fruit bowl lamp

fruit bowl lamp diy after

I’ve found this metal fruit bowl at the thrift store and thought it could make a great vintage style lamp shade. I also found a small table lamp whit a hideous lampshade but whit a great shape lamp base. The lampshade is also useful for making a lampshade out of the fruit bowl. This way there is very little waist of materials. I really like the way the lampshade turned out and it was a really easy project!

DIY – Recycled tube phone case

diy recycled tube phone case

Who doesn’t love a good recycling project? This one is really simple. Sometimes liquid soaps come in really pretty tubes. When the tube is empty we usually just trow it away but I thought I could make something useful and pretty out of it. I thought, why not make another phone case? This on is made with an elastic closure, but you could also use velcro. Also, this project is great for making small wallets or credit card holders!

DIY – Fabric covered camera bag

diy fabric covered camera bag

I’ve found a great camera bag at the thrift store for only 50 Euro cents. I love the fact that it’s sturdy, not soft like my other camera bag. The only thing is: I think it’s kind of boring. It really needs a little bit of character. Besides that I’m really jelous of all the beautiful camera bags I see online. I decided to cover a part of the camera bag in fabric. I really love how it turned out!

DIY – Lace sunglasses

diy lace sunglasses

I wanted to do a tutorial on sunglasses inspired on the a-morir lace sunglasses. I really like the idea of lace sunglasses and I thought it couldn’t be that hard to do a DIY version of these sunglasses. I wanted to make them a little more subtle and give them my own twist. That’s why I decided to use white lace and white sunglasses for this project. I really like how they turned out! And for those who wonder: you can see pretty good with this sunglasses on!

DIY – Owl lamp

diy owl lamp

I saw all these great owl lamps online and I loved them. I am a big fan of owl and of vintage products. So these owl lamps would look great in my interior! But unfortunately I couldn’t find one around here. Besides that I thought I could make one my self for a just a few bucks. I found a polystone owl in the store. Polystone is an ideal material for this project because it’s easy to make holes in it without destroying the whole owl. So here is my DIY version of the vintage owl lamp!

Latest thrift store finds 04.22.2012

vintage typewriter thrift store find

It’s time for my latest thrift store finds! This time I went to my favorite thrift store and to a flea market. The flea market was really busy, to busy for my taste. And it was a big mess. It was raining outside and it looked like the tent was build when it was already raining. There were big pools of water everywhere, inside and outside the tent. But we found some great items, so in the end it was worth it. My favorite item? The vintage typewriter pictured above. I really wanted one and I finally found one! And for just 3 Euro’s!
