I love to make quick snacks and treats. It’s nice to have something homemade without spending a lot of time on it. These microwave chocolate cakes in a bowl are really easy to make and ready in just 5 minutes. They are perfect as a treat when you get unexpected visitors. Today I made them as a dessert. And they were a big hit! The recipe I put down is for one bowl of cake only. But of course you can make as many as you like!

What you need for one microwave chocolate cake in a bowl

– small microwave save bowl
– 4 tablespoons of flour
– 4 tablespoons of sugar
– 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cacao
– 1 tablespoon of chocolate chips
– 3 tablespoons of sunflower oil
– 3 tablespoons of water

 How to make a delicious chocolate cake in a bowl

Start with mixing the flour, the sugar and the unsweetened cacao together in the bowl. Add the sunflower and the water and combine well. When the mix is smooth you can add the chocolate chips. This is really the secret to this cake!  Put the bowl in the microwave on high for 3 minutes.

You can finish your microwave chocolate cake in a bowl with some powdered sugar or whipped cream and some extra chocolate chips.

    Castor sugar would work better I think, since granulated sugar didn’t dissolve for me. I did make half of that in a ramekin. Other than that, it’s a super dark dense cake that would be a lot better with ice cream.
