I love to make things at home from scratch that you would normally buy. That counts especially for fast-food. It makes it a lot less ‘fast’ but so much more delicious! And isn’t that what we all want? These hot dog buns are way better than the store bought ones. Yes, they do take more time. But I promise you: it will be worth it in the end!
What you need for these delicious hot dog buns
– 120 ml water
– 240 ml milk
– 60 grams of butter
– 600 grams flour
– 20 grams sugar
– 10 grams salt
– 7 grams dry yeast
– 1 egg
How to make hot dog buns
Heat up the milk with the water and the butter until it’s lukewarm. Put half of the flour, the yeast, the egg and the sugar in a bowl and mix it well. Add the milk mixture and mix everything. Now add the rest of the flour and the salt and kneed for about 10 minutes until your dough is nice and elastic.
Separate the dough in 10 pieces and shape it into hot dog buns. Put the buns on a baking tray lined with baking paper and put the buns in a warm spot for about 30 minutes to rise.
Preheat the oven at 200 degrees Celsius and bake your hot dog buns in about 10 till 12 minutes golden brown.
Bon Appetit! XO Wilma
