I love wearing hats. I think I own about 10 different hats and I wear them all. They make every outfit look better! Basically they’re good as they are but even more amazing with some embellishments. In the past I used a glue gun to attach a ribbon to the hat. But I don’t want to alter some hats in a forever kind of way. So I came up with five easy ways to embellish a hat without damaging it. They are all really stylish and so easy that you will be ready to go in under a minute!

1. Embellish your hat with a necklace
I love the look of a necklace as an embellishment on a hat. It gives it a perfectly boho chic vibe. The necklace I used here is from Ebay. I removed the coins at the bottom so it would fit the hat better.
2. Embellish your hat with a scarf
This one is fun and playful. Take a thin and long scarf and wrap it around your hat. Secure with a knot and you are ready to go. I bought my scarf at a thrift store.
3. Embellish your hat with a beaded headband
This one looks amazing and is super simpel. Just use a pretty beaded headband and place it around your hat. I used this headband.
4. Embellish your hat with a vintage belt
I love vintage belts and when I came across one in a thrift store I just had to buy it. Most of those belts have a lot of wear and tear at the ends but you can still use them for projects. Like for this hat embellishment. Wrap the belt around the hat an cut it off at the desired length and make a hole with a snap punch. Put the belt around your hat and your done!
5. Use a floral headband to embellish a hat
For a romantic vibe you can place a floral headband on your hat. My headband is from Forever21, but you can get them in many places. Just make sure to buy one with elastic so it will fit your hat perfectly.
