Good Bye my sweet Johny

Johny

It looks like I’m only blogging about sad things lately, but I just need to share this with you. When I moved in with my boyfriend he already had a cat. I love Dime but I also wanted one of my own. So there he was, my sweet little Johny. Johny was curious and he liked everyone. I loved him, so much. But today we had to put him to sleep for good. Yesterday he got ill. He was puking and I don’t know what he has been eating but it looked strange and wasn’t something we had given him. It also contained some elastic. He was walking around like he was drunk and I was so worried. Then he came on my bed and layed on my chest. He was lying down for a little while and after that he moved to the other side of the bed. I felt like he was saying goodbye and I panicked. I called the vet and we brought him there. She said his kidneys were big and it looked like he was poisoned. Especially because he had been puking all kind of rubbish. We left him there so he could be treated. This morning we got a phone call. Johny was not doing well and they found blood in his urine. When we got there he was more dead than alive. I held his foot and with his last bit of strength he moved his head to my head. We had to put him to sleep, we could not let him suffer any more.

I can’t stop crying about him, I loved him so much. We will miss all the energy is brought to our home. We will miss his hugs and his love. I don’t know what he ate, and I will never be sure what exactly happened to him. But I feel angry. This was my sweet little Johny, the most loving cat you can imagine and now he is gone. He was just 1,5 years old..

About moving

wallpaper

I love our new home. It’s so light and spacious. Two things that are so different from our last home. I also love the big garden and the nice neighborhood. We have to do a lot in the garden before I can say it’s pretty. Right now almost everything is paved. I want to add some grass and of course flowers! I also want a patio, that would be great with the rainy weather here in the Netherlands. But for now we are still very busy inside. The last residents were living here since 1965 and were heavy smokers so you can imagine that there is a lot to do here. One of the rooms had 6 layers of wallpaper. I kept a piece of all of them. I really love the one above. I’m going to try to find a roll of that one. That would be so great!

The cats were not amused by the move. John, the grey one, doesn’t really care about the new home but he does about not being able to go outside. Dime spent his first day lying under the couch. The poor thing. Now he is sleeping at his, and Johns, new favorite spot: the window-sill. They will be alright, it just needs some time..

Neighbor cat with a mustache

We have two cats: John and Dime. But sometimes it looks like we’ve got three. One of the neighbor’s cat is always together with our cats. Where John and Dime are, there is Dicky. Yes, that’s how we call him. We’ve got no idea who his owner is, but we love him. And look at that mustache! So cute! It’s a shame that when we are moving he is losing his two best friends. At least John and Dime would still have each other..

Dime the tiger

Dime the tiger

I already introduced you to my two sweet little cats. But they aren’t always that cute. This picture of Dime proves just that! He looks like he’s going to eat me for breakfast. Actually, he was yawning. But who cares? It’s a pretty bad ass picture of him, don’t you think? I absolutely love this picture!
