It’s extra special to make your own pesto. It’s easy to buy it but it really isn’t that hard to make it yourself. At this moment I have to make it with store bought basil, but I hope that I will have my own fresh basil in the garden this summer!

What you need for pesto
- 2 cups fresh basil
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/3 cup pine nuts
- 3 garlic cloves
- Salt and black pepper to taste
How to make pesto
Put the basil together with the pine nuts and the garlic in the food processor. With the food processor on, add the olive oil gradually. Put the grated Parmesan cheese and the salt and pepper to taste in the food processor and mix for the last time. I know this is a little bit cheating, but it is the easiest way to make pesto very fast.
