DIY – Lampshade cover
Lampshades are a really easy way to bring some color in your home. It’s also really easy to remove the lampshades en replace them with a new one. But if you want to change often there is another, cheaper, solution: lampshade covers! This way you can make your lampshades look the way you want them to look. In every color or print you can think of. You just need some fabric and velcro!
The full instruction continues after the jump . . .
What you need
- fabric
- velcro
- if you have a thin fabric, you need backing.
How to make it
First measure your lampshade. Make the height of your cover one cm bigger then the height of your lampshade. This way you will never see the original lampshade. For the wide of your cover you have to make sure you take a inch more for the velcro. Cut the fabric with on cm seam allowance. Zigzag the fabric all the way around. Now make a seam of one cm on all sides and stitch. Place the velcro on the ends of the fabric sew.
Your lampshade cover is ready!
